Environmental Management

Hyundai GLOVIS Europe has established this Environmental
Management Policy to promote environmental management
and enhance environmental performance across all business
activities and the value chain.

It is also committed to continuously improving the policy to
minimize negative environmental impacts and strengthen
sustainable practices.

Net Zero Transition

Hyundai GLOVIS has established clear commitments to climate action through its Net Zero Transition Plan. The European organization aligns with this plan and actively supports its implementation across the region. Through the deployment of low-carbon vessels, low-emission trucking solutions, expanded intermodal transport, and the integration of renewable energy, it contributes to the 2045 carbon-neutrality pathway. By continuously improving regional operations, these efforts help build more sustainable, lower-carbon supply chains while strengthening environmental performance and long-term competitiveness.

Climate Change Mitigation

Carbon Neutrality in the Energy Consumption

Hyundai GLOVIS Europe is increasing its use of renewable energy as part of our commitment to reach carbon neutrality by 2045. In 2025 we will secure Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and implement physical renewable energy efforts to transition to clean power and reducing scope 2 emissions in with international sustainability standards.

Carbon Neutrality in the Supply chain

At Hyundai GLOVIS Europe, we are transforming automotive logistics with purpose. Through our Rail 50 strategy, we aim to shift more than 50% of finished vehicle transport in Europe from road to rail by 2030, in collaboration with our transport partners. This is more than a modal shift, it's a commitment to a smarter, cleaner, and more resilient supply chain that puts customers and the planet first.

Action Plan to Reduce Carbon Emissions in our Supply Chain

Hyundai GLOVIS has established commitments to reducing Scope 3 carbon emissions across the global supply chain. Hyundai GLOVIS Europe aligns with these reduction goals and supports their implementation within the European region. By transforming supplier transportation across land, sea, air, and rail transportation modes. Through strategic partnerships we have decarbonization measures of intermodal transportation, emission tracking, and active supplier engagement, we contribute to meaningful climate action and help build a more resilient, sustainable global supply chain.

Smart Climate Infrastructure

At Hyundai GLOVIS Europe, we integrate innovation, sustainability, and climate-smart infrastructure into every part of our logistics network. Across our sites in Italy, France and Germany, we are developing resilient systems that protect assets, reduce environmental impact, and support the shift toward a low-carbon future.

Powering Logistics with Clean Energy

At our Marckolsheim compound in France, renewable energy is part of our daily operations. More than 10,000 parking spaces are covered by solar panels spanning 30 hectares, generating clean energy each year while protecting around 6,000 vehicles from weather-related damage.

At our Rackwitz compound in Germany, we have combined hail protection and solar energy generation into one integrated system. Over 35,000 solar panels (460 Wp each) are installed on galvanized steel structures, providing a total capacity of 16.3 MWp and producing more than 16 GWh of clean energy each year. A dedicated 0.3 MWp section alone covers around 25% of the site's energy needs, while 80,000 m² of hail protection structures keep nearly 6,000 vehicles safe from weather-related risks.

Sustainable Vehicle Protection

In Italy, our site is equipped with a hail protection system covering more than 47,000 m², designed to shield up to 3,500 vehicles during the hail season. The structure combines durable aluminum frames with 250 kg concrete anchors, ensuring strength and stability. The nets are deployed from March to September and retracted in winter to prevent snow-related damage providing year-round protection and reliability.

At our Fos-sur-Mer compound in France, over 8,000 parking spaces are protected by hail-resistant nets designed to withstand hailstones up to 25 mm. The 20-hectare system is installed on galvanized steel posts with foam protection to prevent any contact damage and is maintained twice a year by a dedicated team. A 24-hour rapid-response unit ensures immediate repairs when needed and in 2025, the site recorded zero hail-related incidents.

Circularity

Circularity in the Battery Supply Chain

Hyundai GLOVIS Europe provides end-to-end battery logistics solutions for both EV and ESS batteries. Our services include specialized consulting and are supported by strategic partnerships and our own waste handling license, covering the entire process, from collection and transport to recycling and reuse. As part of our Circularity Strategy, we play a vital role in ensuring that end-of-life EV batteries are safely and efficiently delivered to certified recyclers, where valuable materials are recovered and returned to the supply chain. By enabling circular logistics in the automotive industry, we help reduce waste, lower carbon emissions, and support a more sustainable, climate-resilient future.
